BlackBerry is launching its first Android-powered smartphone, the BlackBerry Priv. BlackBerry’s first Android handset is priced at $699 (roughly Rs. 45,500).
The BlackBerry Priv sports a 5.4-inch Oled QHD (2560 x 1440) display. Powered by Snapdragon 808 processor and comes with 3GB RAM, and 32GB onboard storage with microSD card support. The handset includes an 18-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation capability and f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel sensor placed upfront. The handset comes with a 3410 mAh battery, which the company claims can last for up to 22.5 hours under “mixed usage”.
The NFC-capable Priv supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, and other standard connectivity options. In runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Blackberry Priv will sport a regular touch keyboard as well as QWERTY keyboard.
The handset also comes with a physical keyboard, which slides out from underneath the display in portrait mode.
