Toyota has launched its new mid-sized sedan, the Yaris, in India at a starting price of Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The Yaris will have four variants – J, G, V and VX.
The Toyota Yaris is powered by 1.5-litre 4-cylinder dual VVT-i petrol engine which produces 107PS at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 140Nm @ 4,200rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and also offer a seven-speed CVT automatic transmission in all the variants. Toyota Yaris has a 42L fuel tank capacity.
Toyota Yaris gets features such as roof-mounted air vents with ambient illumination, acoustic and vibration control glass, hand/air gesture control for the infotainment system, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and tail lamps with LED line guide. Other features include projector headlamps with LED line guide, LED DRLs, Shark-fin antenna, piano black interior, rear power outlets, rear sunshade. It also has a 4.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with in-built navigation. It supports Bluetooth connectivity but does not get the option of Apple Car Play and Android Auto. It does get MirrorLink.
The Yaris also gets a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a 3-pod instrument cluster with a blue backlight and silver surrounds. Further, silver trim surrounds the centre console. It gets features likes electric ORVMs, automatic climate control, cruise control and power adjustable driver seat among others. The interior is finished in a dual-tone of beige and black.
Safety features include seven airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) along with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and Brake Assist — standard across the trim range. The top variant also gets vehicle stability control, front and rear parking sensors and all 4-wheel disc brakes.
