Xiaomi launched its new budget smartphone, the Redmi 5 in India at a starting price of Rs 7,999. It will be available via Amazon.in.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM and 16GB/ 32GB of inbuilt storage and supports microSD card to expand the storage. The dual SIM smartphone that runs Android 7.0 Nougat-based MIUI 9 and is backed up by 3000mAh battery.
The Redmi 5 comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash. On the front there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with a “soft-light” flash module.
Xiaomi has added special features like dual-pyrolytic sheet to protect it from high temperature, the power adapter is build to withstand 480 volts, and the phone also supports dual WhatsApp accounts parallelly.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone also comes equipped with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.
The 2GB/16GB variant of the Redmi 5 is priced at Rs 7,999, the 3GB/32GB variant at Rs 8,999 and the 4GB/64GB version at Rs 10,999.
